Everyone is feeling a little more patriotic this week and we have the Platinum Jubilee celebrations to thank! The event has provided a huge opportunity for retailers and businesses, to provide consumers with a much needed reason to spend and get involved! Here we look at what retailers are doing in preparation for the event.
M&S
Famed for their amazing food, M&S has launched a number of products to help shoppers celebrate the Jubilee and help create a theme party of dreams. They are one of many retailers honouring the bank holiday and giving staff the day off to let them enjoy the festivities!
Aldi
Good old Aldi – they love an event! Kevin the carrot (and friends) have made an appearance again, this time dressed in their best British attire. A winner among shoppers old and young.
Jolley’s Pet store
Jolley’s is offering a free pamper and groom for Corgis in the month of June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The Queen is a big fan of Pembroke Welsh Corgis, and the breed has become a symbol of her 70-year reign. Jolley’s have even appointed a Jubilee co-ordinator for the event, ensuring dogs around the country are prepped for the celebrations!
Carnaby Street
Carnaby Street is welcoming shoppers who make it past Oxford Street to its shopping street with a beautiful, shiny installation to honour this weekends events. A glistening crown embellishes Carnaby Streets Union Jack Flag with two platinum disc arches bookending both ends of the street.
The oversized crown sits at the junction of Carnaby Street and Ganton Street above the 3D shimmer Union Flag which is adorned with 30,000 red, white and blue shimmer discs. Stunning! Retailers along this shopping street have also made a Sterling effort with their store windows and VM displays.
Harvey Nichols Windows
Harvey Nichols have made an incredible effort, and utilised all their windows to pay homage to the Jubilee celebrations. Their execution is really simple and utilised their packaging, mannequins and red, white and blue decorations with a focus on products which could be purchased to enjoy the event at home!
