Elevating the Beer, Wine & Spirits Experience In-Store.

The ambition: create a destination that feels clearer, richer, and more engaging.

SDI TESCO @LCVISUALS-63

Tesco set out to reimagine its Beer, Wine & Spirits (BWS) category — elevating the shopping experience through a powerful blend of premium fixtures and dynamic digital content.

To bring this to life, Tesco partnered with us to technically develop, prototype, and deliver a complete suite of fixtures alongside Tesco’s most significant in-store LED screen investment to date.

This wasn’t just a refresh. It was a category re-engineering.

The Brief:

  • Translate a bold creative design vision into fully engineered, buildable fixtures.
  • Seamlessly integrate digital media into the physical environment to enhance shopper engagement.
  • Prototype, test, and refine the concept in live stores before any future rollout.

We partnered closely with Tesco’s Store Design and Digital Management Teams, taking their creative vision and shaping it into a robust, scalable fixture family.

Every detail - materials, lighting, proportions, modularity - was engineered to perform in busy stores.

To ensure the concept worked in real conditions, we developed full prototypes, progressed them through Tesco’s multi-stage approval process, and installed trial units in Cheshunt and Wokingham.

Early success led to expansion into two additional stores.

Alongside the physical design, we engineered fixture solutions that supported Tesco’s new digital platform - enabling brand storytelling, adaptable messaging, and dynamic content delivery directly in the aisle.

This resulted in a BWS environment where physical and digital work together, amplifying impact.

The Impact:

  • A premium BWS destination that elevates the look and feel of the entire category.
  • Stronger shopper engagement, supported by digital storytelling and clearer navigation.
  • A flexible platform for brand partners, enabling both offline and digital activation.
  • A scalable fixture suite designed for long-term consistency across formats.
  • Tesco now has a category experience that not only looks better - but works harder.
