Refreshing the School Dining

Educational contract caterers Impact Food Group (IFG) engaged with us to redesign their large head office in Surrey which was a great success.

Following the implementation of their head office, we started talking to them about the possibility of refreshing school canteens and coffee shops, a partnership which would become mutually beneficial over time

IFG offer catering services for schools and colleges across the UK. More than just a caterer, they have created a positive food culture and believe in helping more students eat better food. So, it was important for we.are.sdi to create a positive dining environment which mirrored this culture.

We started refreshing schools and colleges in April 2021 at the height of the pandemic. It was important students were welcomed back safely and inclusively. We completed 11 schools between April and August, including 4 external catering pods.
The refreshes included new pendent lights, hanging signage, branding of counters and other areas, painting into relevant brand colours and fitting new counters in some schools.

The main difference was the graphics and communication treatment we provided which help direct and inspire food choices. The environments all look cohesive and inviting and help students remain healthy and well fed.
