Traditionally a go-to shopping venue for the older generation, Boundary Outlet wanted to attract a more diverse demographic with a new in-store experience providing fashion, homewares and hospitality from a large range of well-known brands.
Our key objective was to reenergize their flagship Colne store. We first began with customer journey mapping and retail strategy.
By spending time in store and understanding operational activities, as well as how customers behaved with existing solutions, we were able to understand the key problem areas.
As part of the design process, we implemented a sophisticated yet subtle brand identity within the store that truly reflects the Boundary brand and allows customers to shop in confidence with quality and price as the foundation principles.
Executing clear navigation throughout the store, we designed display solutions which would maximise product space and deliver an optimised customer experience.
With an open floor plan design, it was crucial that we created modular solutions of differing sizes and functionality which could be easily adapted for a changing retail experience.
Promoting a natural theme, we crafted with a mix of substrates including to deliver a range of bespoke touch point equipment, such as a welcome concierge and payment points.
Using clear visual merchandising concepts, we made vast quantities of display tables, clothing rails to best showcase Boundary’s fantastic product offering.
Our sustainable approach ensured that we effectively reused and repurposed as much existing store equipment as possible, whist providing new specifically designed display solutions which drive an uplift in sales.
All solutions have been designed with disassembly in mind for end-of-life recycling and made to withstand a large footfall. We introduced foliage throughout the store to add a homely aesthetic.
We wanted customers to feel delighted when walking around the store, whether they’re browsing home furnishings, trying on garments, or having a cup of coffee. Insight shows that happy customers will dwell longer, return more frequently, and ultimately increase basket spend.
Since the revamp, Boundary Outlet has attracted an array of new brands to store and is achieving fantastic sales results.
